In early 2016, a promotional event was planned for Knorr's Vegetable Seasoning. This event aimed to bring to life the vegetables contained in the seasoning - tomato (actually a fruit), carrot, onion, and pepper - transforming them into mascots. This creative idea was meant to elevate these vegetables from mere kitchen ingredients to fun, characterful entities.

When the project commenced, an exciting yet challenging journey began for me. Illustration and mascot design were not typically within my area of expertise, but being chosen for this special task was both surprising and gratifying. I decided to embrace this opportunity and got straight to work.

My first step involved contemplating the personality and character of each vegetable. For the tomato, I envisioned a dignified, self-aware appearance. Thus, I designed it as a gentleman with a cane. The pepper was always stylish and flamboyant. I added a fitting bow tie to complete its 'man of the salon' look. The carrot had a sporty and relaxed style. I gave it a 'cool' vibe with a tennis cap and sunglasses. Finally, the onion transformed into a rebellious character, complete with a leather jacket embodying its defiant spirit.

I brought these characters to life with initial sketches on paper, solidifying my ideas. Then, in the magical world of Photoshop, I colored and animated these sketches. Each character came alive with their unique style, stepping into the playful world of Knorr's Vegetable Seasoning.

Upon completing the project, my desk wasn't just adorned with colorful illustrations but also four wonderful characters, each with its own story. In the final screen presentations, I showcased the produced versions of these characters. The audience could see how these vegetables could be vibrant and lively not just in the kitchen but also in our imagination. This project transformed for me from just a design task into a journey of creativity. Enjoy the presentation!
